ICU/Critical Care RN in Prescott, Arizona, 86301! Job Title:
Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Float Pool
(ICU/MS/Tele/PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours
per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in an ICU
setting License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
Must-Have: - Clinician must take and pass dysrhythmia exam within
two attempts prior to signing the contract. - If the clinician
fails to score 80% in two attempts, then they will not be eligible
for six months. - Candidates may not be employed with any
associated facilities within the past year. Description: The Float
Pool includes ICU, MedSurg, Tele, and PCU units. The average census
across units includes stepdown and telemetry patients. Common
patient demographics include geriatric and orthopedic patients. The
facility has a strong catheterization lab program, handling
post-procedural care. Clinicians will care for patients recovering
from myocardial infarctions and cardiac catheterizations. They must
manage titratable drips such as heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone,
nitroglycerin, dopamine, dobutamine, and insulin. Each unit will
have a charge nurse who does not take an assignment. Nurse aids
will be utilized in all settings. Respiratory equipment available
includes CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow therapy. Nurses will be
expected to interpret cardiac strips. The scheduling process is
managed by a scheduler who will publish schedules six weeks in
advance. Flexibility is essential as travelers may need to
accommodate block scheduling. Weekend scheduling is required every
other weekend. Travelers will participate in the permanent staff
rotation for holiday requirements. There is a call or standby
requirement for excessive staffing situations. Units will be
assigned to staff via text message two hours prior to shift start.
Professional scrubs in solid colors are required. Training will
include a general orientation along with specific unit
orientations. Charting will be done using an established electronic
