Job Description Job Description Position Overview The
Occupational Therapist (OT) delivers direct rehabilitation services
in occupational therapy to patients referred by physicians,
adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational
standards. Education, Experience, and Licensing Criteria Must hold
NBCOT certification at the time of hire; renewal is not mandatory
thereafter. Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy
program (BSOT or MSOT) is required. Must be currently registered or
licensed in the relevant state, maintaining an active and good
standing license throughout employment. Preferred: At least one
year of experience in a post-acute care or similar environment. CPR
certification is required upon hire or must be obtained during
orientation; it must remain current throughout employment. Job
Responsibilities Engage in community health initiatives and
projects as appropriate. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and
email communication. Collaborate with patients, families, and
support departments to effectively address patient needs.
Consistently demonstrate proper body mechanics. Make independent
decisions when necessary. Possess knowledge of relevant practices,
procedures, laws, and regulations governing operations in a
post-acute care setting. Implement and interpret departmental
programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Exhibit
proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights,
safety, and sanitation. Maintain professional relationships with
colleagues, vendors, and others. Safeguard the confidentiality of
all proprietary and sensitive information. Adhere to organizational
policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following the
organization’s Code of Conduct and completing required compliance
training. Core Responsibilities Implement occupational therapy
treatment plans for patients, focusing on activities of daily
living. Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable, timely,
and functional goals. Supervise and assess the care provided by
Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), Rehabilitation Aides, and
students. Document care accurately and in a timely manner. Utilize
therapy software effectively and accurately. Provide excellent
customer service and maintain a positive demeanor towards patients.
Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary. Exhibit
reliable and consistent attendance. Employ reasoning skills and
sound judgment in all situations. Communicate effectively and
collaborate within an interdisciplinary team. Engage in physical
activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing,
pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently
throughout the workday. Read, write, speak, and comprehend the
